Dr. Christos Tryfonides graduated from Athens Medical School with Honours in 2004 (1998 – 2004). He continued with his General Ophthalmology training in the renowned Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer in Israel where he spent 5 years in the ophthalmology department rotating and gaining experience in all ophthalmic subspecialties (2008-2013).

Later on, he subspecialized in Oculoplastic Surgery in Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer and Asaf Harofe Medical Center in Israel for another year (2013-2014).

Subsequently, undertook a two-year fellowship in oculoplastic surgery in the prestigious Manchester Royal Eye Hospital – MREH in the United Kingdom (2014-2016).

After returning to Cyprus, he started a private practice, examining patients in Aretaeio Private Hospital and American Medical Center.

Oculoplastic Surgery (Eyelid, Lacrimal & Orbital Surgery)

Dr. Christos Tryfonides after finishing his general ophthalmology training, underwent extensive Subspecialty Fellowship training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Oculoplastics) dealing with eyelid and lacrimal problems, performing surgery to manage the following conditions: eyelid entropion and ectropion, trichiasis, eyelid lesions and tumors with excision and reconstruction of the eyelids, surgical removal of xanthelasmae and dermoid cysts, punctoplasties and DCR surgery for watery eyes (External and Endonasal endoscopic approach), evisceration for blind painful eyes, temporal artery biopsies for Giant Cell Arteritis, reconstructive procedures after Graves Thyroid Eye Disease diagnosis.

As part of his Oculoplastic training, Dr. Tryfonides specializes and performs cosmetic eyelid procedures such as upper/ lower lid blepharoplasty, transconjunctival blepharoplasties and blepharoptosis treatment with various techniques (Mullerectomies, Levator advancement, Frontalis slings), brow lifts, Injectable Treatments for periorbital rejuvenation.
